Usual Saturday....Shopping, catching a mouse ( this one released back to the wild!), go for a Costa in the Zed.....but getting back found that my garage traffic light doesnt work any more.
So went for a low tech solution....
HIGH TECH

And at least I found a use for one of the M badges.....=))

If you can, best to have the ball touching the windscreen so you can see it to tell you when to stop. Your bin seems to have space for the M power badge. Like "low tech".:)

Stick a dogs "squeeky toy" to the garage wall for an audible low tech solution

When I used to reverse into the garage I just had an old 4x4 fence post fixed on the floor and when the wheels touched it I was far enough back. Failish safe as it was difficult to run over a 4x4

Can't beat a good gadget though! Even if it's not necessary :D

The M badge is the critical bit. When you drive in it faces you, as soon as the ball touches the numberplate , the angle of the plate makes the ball roll, and the badge turns....and then I stop!!
However I take your point so I could throw the other M badge I have in the bin
