I would be tempted if the car wasn't an automatic

That’s who I bought my Z from last year. Good guys to deal with and I wanted an auto, apparently most Japanese imports are auto. My car was standard apart from the Fast and Furious wheels and the eye brows. Only 22k miles but I did have a few age related things to deal with mainly falling rubber parts but no rust. When I asked my friendly MOT tester to check it after purchase he was amazed at the condition for a 22 year old car.

I know @Stevo7682, but it's not easy! Or, maybe, I am just too much of a wimpy? :D
Only pulling your leg .
I was lucky in way that the yellow and blue zed 1.9 manual and auto ) cost less than 2k total so easy pitch.
The 2.8 orinoco cost a chunk more had to work a bit for that ( nearly lost opportunity to purchase it)
Would say though 10k is a lot Japanese import cars tend to be pretty decent rust wise ( can suffer deteriorated rubber suspension components) but you could pick up a nice condition 6cyl zed for a bit less than that .

I know, and I am not saying there aren't bargains out there, but I should have researched a little bit more.

If I had joined this forum before I bought the car, I could have waited for much better deals, and cars that had been kept properly… There's nothing like buying from an enthusiast.

But, I did the same with my Spitfire… The only thing is that I lucked out and got something that was truly rust free and mechanically sound.

I've decided now that the Spit will go (waiting for summer), then I will buy a Z that I really want, then sell the 1.9 (hopefully, or keep it as a runaround). But, I will still spend the money making sure that I don't sell something with the type of issues I got (even if I loose money). Loosing money is likely, though (on both the Spit and the Z3 1.9).
