I hate birds !!

I hit a pidgeon while riding my Deauville 650 at about 70mph ( ok may have been a teensy bit faster:whistle:) on the A27, the thing exploded and covered me in feathers. Had an open face helmet with visor up.......not a pleasant way to start a workday!

When we were kids a fema, let friend of ours was on the back of a motorbike wearing a basic lid (open faced) when she collected a Bee in her eye. That made a mess of her face for a while.

@t-tony
That reminded me of this old saying.....

you can always fix your car, but can the duck fix itself

My cousin used to work for the Lincoln & District water Board and they drove Commer PB vans (those who can remember them) had fairly flat front and Chris, well, he hit a cow in one of those near Retford Notts. He survived (just) the cow didn't.

Yep i remember them, we had one as our Parts Van, always felt you would roll nose first. Was Commer before becoming Dodge for a short while, very popular with the market traders.

A pig to service with the engine stuffed right back like that though.

Ouch.
For the car and duck.
Pretty low flying duck, with the Z it’s nornally the windscreen that collects the feathers...

Maybe ideal time to do a custom ram air intake now you have a gap (Maybe duck down has better filatration that K&N)

Early in 70s ran over a badger on Lulworth range road, it was like hitting a rock, the A35 van nearly turned over, girl friend(now wife) made me go back and have a look, it wasn't dead so I tried to move it out the road and it tried to bite me, being a young soldier I thought I'd just leave it but the GF was having none of it, had to get the long jack handle out the the back cos no way did I want to get bitten, but to my delight when I got back to Bagder he'd gone. Very little blood on road so wasn't overly concerned, glad it wasn't a duck cos already had one earlier.(Chinese restaurant).
Never run anything over since although I was tempted once when I saw the wife walking home from
the shops..........................:banghead:.................=))

Was you going over a hump at speed again

Couple of years ago I hit a deer in a freelander it pushed the radiator back broke some part on the front some sort of grill thing , killed the dear , if in a z of any description it would of been both of us I am sure. Put the dear to one side to come back later, some bu...r beat me to it

I hit a pheasant whilst riding a motorbike. It flew out of a hedge and hit me square in the face. Fortunately I was wearing a full face helmet, and managed to stop without coming off, but it forced my helmet back far enough for the visor to bust my nose and split the skin at the bridge.

Chap in the car behind stopped to check I was okay, then asked if he could have the bird!

Stopped at a garage a bit further on and terrified the young girl behind the counter when I took my helmet off, face was covered in dried blood!

Bust my nose again a year later also motorbike related, but no animals harmed, that was down to stupidly jumping a motocrosser, too fast and too high and not landing with it!

I don't ride bikes anymore.

And get a quacking air induction noise =))

We should count ourselves lucky, an acquaintance in Dubai was on his last week before retiring, driving back from Abu Dhabi, hit a camel, bloody thing came down on the roof/windscreen and killed him instantly.
