We were planning on visiting San Fransisco around now before heading back east along route 66 east towards Florida.
One place we wanted to visit was "Fisherman's Wharf" in SF, but it looks as though it will be in a bad state when we get there now.

I know fires like this keep people like me in employment, but this is terrible to see.

Oh, and 'Firefighters took a defensive approach', means they let it burn (or at least one section of it). Happens more often than you think. A single firefighters life is worth more than some structure thats already pretty much goosed . . .

Hopefully it can be rebuilt sympathetically, it is definitely iconic . . .

Terrible to see , as said life is more important than buildings , but hope they can rebuild as was , we were there about 12 years ago and it was a great place to visit wish them luck
