I love our little get away in Black Rock Sands over the summer, but I found it can get a bit boring during the day, so bought myself a little speed boat to pass the time Grandchildren will love it I hope. Going to pick the outboard up tomorrow from Bristol and got to be at Royal Portbury Docks for 08:30 so early start for me.

I thought looking at the thread title you were going to treat yourself to an //M!

That will be great fun in the summer time Jim,nice one .

Just need to remember they keep changing the channel from Powder House to harbour. At least the roads stay in the same place.

And of coarse when family want to go on beach--- boat attached and no parking fee on beach.

Enjoy.

Well Boats almost ready, just a bit of fettling to be done, engine runs like a watch, (60hp) seats have been partially refurbished (by me) When we got it the trailer was not set up correctly for the type of hull so this has now been done, New carpet waiting to go in. And need to get a new steering Wheel fitted. Named her Our Betty (I Acquired some Betty Boop Graphics a while back hence the name), hope to have her in the water in two weeks, will get some pictures soon. Insurance was £70.

If we enjoy this little boat this year planning on a better one for next year. Been looking around and you can get a lot of boat for your money. Been watching this one. Although trailer again not set up correctly.

Well my little speedboat didn't last long, one outing last Saturday and decided it was not big enough, so picking this up on Saturday:): 3.0 litre inboard 135hp As you can see one of the things about this boat is that the two back seats lift up and lock into place making a great sun bathing area (if we get any) it also comes with bow cushions, that can be placed on the front of the boat for another sun bathing area, hence the walk through windscreen. And the two back to back seats turn into two sun loungers.

Now that looks the dogs b******s Jim:thumbsup:

Looks really smart Jim. You will be able to travel by sea to Spain now  Just watch for the Migrants hitching a lift with their Dingys =))

Like your style Jim, bet you will have loads of fun in that :baa

We done an engine survey on the boat which revealed a problem with the exhaust:( after investigation it was found that the cost of this would be £1,209 to repair it:eek: (Complete New Manifold & Riser), this apparently is a 8 year service requirement with the stern drives, Owner has agreed to pay for the repair:), so boat was up for £5,500 I managed to knock it down to £5,000, but then seen another boat I liked, and got a further £400 of the Price with further negotiations, boat in workshop at moment will be ready by end of the day:thumbsup: Very nearly walked away from it but glad I didn't.
