Got up this morning and thought sod it, some spirited driving needed.
Chucked some bits in the zed and went north to the lakes.
Had an amazing day over some of the passes and now found a place to stay for a few nights.....so more to come!

Yeah many years ago I went out for a little run on a nice day intending to visit a nearby village from my home on the North West Coast. Went through the village, sunroof open, on to a more inland town close to the M61. Got onto the motorway listening to a play on Radio 4, now I am passing Bolton, then Leeds and thought that I'd never been over to the east coast. Ended up in Scarborough! Only had the Price of my fuel home and enough for a bag of chips which I devoured at the castle. A grand day out!

But there you have it, crap weather - open roads, sunny day - loads of other people there.
I'm hoping to do more of that next year, just look for a bit of good weather and go! Yes, it helps to be an OAP sometimes.
