Hello from Eagle Creek, Orygun! I'm on a small 5 acre ranch just a few miles from a great little town called Estacada...where the infamous Spotted Owl resides.
I'm retired and busier now than when I was working a full time job. Wanted a fun car again. Had a Porsche 914 for quite a long time but got tired of having to do a repair every week so I sold it for a supercharged Miata. THAT was a fun car, especially to auto cross. Buying the ranch gave need for a tractor and the Miata had to go. It was an OK trade... Miata for a Kubota.
Turning 65 I told mysel I needed another fun car and tried a JCW Mini Cooper S. 210 Hp in a roller skate! Fun car for a year but not me. Found this 2001 3.0 green Roadster with only 72,000 miles. So much power. Beautiful lines and a blast to drive on the twisties.
Love it's "big butt" curvy fenders. I want to add fog lights, stiffen the suspension and a few other mods. Will take it to PIR and auto cross it a few times to find its limits. Gotta be safe ya know.
Thanks for having a fun forum....

Welcome to the forum from the East Coast, New Jersey. Very nice car!. Got a 1.9 L '96. Same color. Most of the boys are from the UK. A really great bunch with a fine sense of humor. (You only have to say something about American football to find out). I had such a good time with all of them that I took a trip over there last June to meet them. Had a GREAT TIME THERE!!!!!!!. One of the guys from Wales, who drove me all around his country, just flew over here to help me drive a 3.2 ///M from San Diego to Egg Harbor Township, 3200 miles. We had a blast. There is so much to talk about here. The info on cars is probably the best you can get anywhere, but its not always about cars here. Anything goes (almost). Have some friends that live there with a small ranch and some sheep but I forget exactly where in Oregon. I'll find out. Frankie

Hey Frankie
Sounds like a great trip. The 3.2 M is the only Z I didn't drive while deciding on what to buy. Was really taken aback with the power of the 3 I figured it couldn't get much better.
My wife just got back from LA competing in a sheep herding competition! Find out where your friends are and let me know. We might know them. Wouldn't that be a hoot!

My friend, @miller1098 has over 1000 sheep. Nice guy. He was the one who helped me drive the ///M. Frankie

Good one Ken :). Something I've always wondered about, is the gear box reversed for left hand shifting or is the pattern the same?:coolsteer):beer

Just the same, selecting reverse is a whole easier in a LHD car, I know I've done it!

Hi Ken, it takes about 10 min to figure it out. The thing I found strangest was looking right for the rear view when I had to look left. Everyone has driven my car that has wanted too and found it much easier than they imagined. JIM

Hi again,
Yeah, the rear view mirror is the thing that takes a while to get used to.When I retired I lived in Spain all the time from 2004 until 2012 and they all drive on the wrong side of the road there as well! The other thing to watch out for in Spain are roundabouts which the Spanish don't really understand. They are taught to stay in the outside lane no matter which exit they want.Incidentally my neighbour in Spain is a Yank married to an English guy and my neighbour here is from near Seattle also with an English husband. It's a small world.

Best wishes,
Ken.

They're only just beginning to call them roundabouts over here, previously referred to as "turning circles" .
The first one located in the Kissimmee area, only a few years ago, at the Lake Buena Vista Outlet has now been made into a single lane to make it simpler. You get onto the roundabout and just go with the flow until your exit comes round! The only other proper round about we knew of was in Clearwater Beach outside the Hilton hotel, where many accidents occurred as people went round it BOTH ways!!

My wife and I call them roundy rounds. They make them so small the fire trucks have to run on the sidewalks to make the turns
