Richard - i had same thing happen to mine and i just got done soldering the wires in and am about to exoxy the top, but I am curious - how did yours hold up?

It's actually a really tight fit when I push it in so I am confident with some good glue it will be sound.

So far it is working well. I don't use the radio at all to know if it actually works still. I did test it when it was first repaired. The stereo that I have fitted has DAB+ so I use that rather than FM radio.

Repaired mine about 2 years ago, recently had to redo the repair again, originally the bulbous end that fits inside the wing gromit was broken on mine and the interior wire broken I repaired using araldite epoxy, that has stood up, recently the wire inside needed resoldering. Will see if it lasts.

Just replaced the outer grommet on mine to find the reason why reception was so poor was the previous owner had repaired the "bulbous end" by glueing it into the grommet :banghead:

Pulled mine out yesterday as still not 100% after resoldering the interior mast wire, fitted an ebay cheap aerial, bit of fettling to get it clamped in from underneath but managed to get it tightened up on the wing ok. It did need a short cable changer with a screw in connection one end and a normal male end on the other so it fits to the lead running to the head unit. Also need to reattach the earth lead onto the old aerial bracket stud. Insulated the now unused power lead that fed the original unit and tucked that away.
