A quick guide on how to remove the roof lining from later z3 facelift models
I started by unscrewing the Phillips screws that hold the roof down at the front edge.
I took the torx bolts (3) out of this panel the reveal two more Phillips, don’t think you have to though.
Then having peeled back the roof driver out the outer rivets (4) and unscrewed the inner two screws.
The liner should now be loose enough to fold back, then it is clipped to the roof support cross beam (one had a rivet on the inner edge) .
At various points it is riveted on both drivers and passengers side to the roof frame folding mechanism, some roof tensioning springs (one on the car) needed removing (Phillips) too.

Then the rear is held on by some awkward rivets above the roll hoops. The back section will then peel off.
On each side there is also a riveted bracket
