How to find a Dodgy Builder

Not yet. I managed to have a decent conversation with the scaffolder though, and briefly told him why the job was cancelled, I didnt want him to think we had cancelled on a whim or for no good reason. He said he would remove the scaffolding within the first few days after the xmas holidays. I told him that i had contacted CD and TS and he must have told me about 5 times that he was in no way connected to the builder on a personal level or business level.

After a bit more detective work, we found where the builder lives, thank you ''google street view'' and drove on the road while we were down at xmas and found his van on his drive. So at least i have an address now.

Just in case of any nastiness later

May I suggest that the law states (told me by PC Plod trying to "do" a friend of mine for the offence) if someone telephones and threatens or uses fowl language or turns up at the door making demands. Once you have proof that you have requested them to desist if they then continue it is harassment it apparently came out of the Stalking law. So this then changes things from a civil action to a criminal act and that is how come the police can get involved.

So if there is any negative contact with your mum I would consider writing to him with a registered letter that you can prove was delivered to his home asking him to desist. From that point on he is in criminal territory.

I hate to say this but as far as I am concerned this is not urban myth I was involved myself when a friend was on his was to being sectioned and was heavily involved with the police on his behalf....."But" I am no lawyer so do not hold on too hard to my comment. I am sure you understand what I mean.
 
Thanks for the info again.

Update - all the scaffolding has now been taken down, took two chaps less than 3 hours, and that included a break :-o no one called at mums, nothing was said.

I now have the address of the builder, a tip off from the scaffolder, and after a google street search and a drive around, we found his truck on his drive, we havent heard anything from him for nearly 3 weeks now.

Gill - If this happens, you could Duck, play Chicken or just go cold Turkey :ymdevil:
But don't go along with the Game since he doesn't sound to be a very Pheasant chap

Thanks Titan that gave me a great laugh! =)) no apologies needed! Wonderful! I wish I could say I set that one up deliberately, but I can't it wouldn't be true =))
