How much 3.o z3

I think the wing had to come off to be sure. If you look carefully you'll see the inner wheel arch flange has had the outer wing pressed right up against it as it's left an imprint. I'd plan for at least minor damage to that flange and the door aperture flange.

I hope not. I'm really quite jealous of this as a project :)

Yes I am keeping my fingers crossed and the price is good, no idea what he will ask for or to offer really.
It is a bit unloved at the moment!
The guy is an absolute nightmare to deal with
Hopefully I should find out early next week.

Well I am still waiting, as previously said very difficult to deal with. The last time I spoke to him he said that the insurance company is waiting on some photos ?
I am going to try and catch up with him over the weekend and try to push him a bit.
On a plus it has some 17" split rims to go with the car.
Will update post as soon as i know which hopefully should be sooner rather than later!

Well at long last I have had some news although I don't think it's good.
My friend has contacted me and he said they want £2200 to buy the car back seems a bit excessive to me
What do you think ?

Cheers
Dave

Thats too pricey, my top would be £1500 as I am a panel beater and could do the work myself

I was thinking £1500 was my top price too
I can't believe the insurance company want £2200 for it although I don't know how much was paid out.

I am going to see him later in the week and see what he says.

If the insurance dispose of it to a breaker they wont get anywhere near £2200, they'll be lucky to break a £1k

I was about to write the very same words. It will go to a salvage auction and may reach £1,000. Less maybe £150 commission.

They are doing the same as fleet disposers do when the keeper of the car has finished his lease. Far from being offered a beneficial price they prey on the emotionally attached and uninformed by asking a silly price. A few people will always pay over the odds to keep the car they've come to know. And if they don't buy it the company don't care as they expect to get much less at auction so any one they trick into paying over the odds is a bonus.

Remember a repaired Cat is worth 60% of non-Cat condition. So at best it would be worth about £3,000. Absolutely no way what they quoted. For a very low mileage car maybe, just maybe.

If you PM me I will tell you the main salvage auctioneers and you can keep watch for it to come up.

Without wishing to cast aspersions on your friend, are you sure he isn't making a bit on this?

Just out of interest.Would you bother to beat a panel like that outer wing you could easily replace for £50? Okay, in this case you'd probably have to spray the replacement wing as it's a rare colour. But most colours have the right wings available. Well that's what I've been doing anyway and the colour match is good enough for the untrained eye.

I would probably replace the wing and paint to colour.
I'd like to get my hands on this one at the right money
