OK... I thought instead of doing a pie I'd do something really worthwhile :ymdevil:

So, little bit of knowledge you might find interesting…

Mars and Earth are never the same distance apart for more than a second at a time. When the two planets are at their closest, they can be 33,926,867.096 miles apart. At their most distant, the two planets can be 249,169,848.087 miles apart.

Mars follows one of the most highly eccentric orbits in our Solar System, but it orbits the Sun farther than the Earth. That allows the Earth to lap Mars every two years and 2 months. When this happens, it is a prime opportunity for spacecraft to be launched to the Red Planet. That explains why there is a flurry of Mars destined activity every 26 months.

Timing is everything so if we time this right we could get poor Maurice home again… maybe launch him from the centre field at Silverstone =:) Look how far we've got him and it's only 11:45pm on day 4 (I've taken the mid point of the mileage span, if things are looking a bit tight I'll take the highest point, we may never get him home but we can sure get him on his way)

Hope you appreciate everyone's effort Maurice, don't you worry, you're in safe hands.... :nearmiss)
