We took a visit to Give Kids the World Village this morning to drop off a cheque for $50 which was left by guests in a Wishing Well money box that lives on the kitchen counter. We don't ask for donations but find that guests like to leave any change at the end of their holidays. We usually round it up and then donate it at GKtW.
After this we went the the Pioneer Village for a look into the history of the area as many English men (many from Yorkshire) started to live with the Seminole Indians.

Pictures 3 and 5, 1900 era versions of a Zedshed.

In some of all the pictures you can see early versions of a Microwave, Super Ser, and several "Guzzunders"

Looks a beautiful and interesting place to visit 🙂
Thank you for sharing the photos 🌞

Fantastic bit of history there Tony, nice to see it preserved and well documented.
Have come across similar historical areas before over there. They do tend to look after these sites if at all possible.

To read what some of the early pioneers did and went through, just to survive and get on with their daily lives is quite remarkable.

On a lighter note though, it seems you will have to give thanks to Yorkshiremen then, for starting it all in Florida =))=))

Thank you Mike, look out for more from Mount Dora today.

I agree Toby on all they had to go through.. And we get upset if we go a few months without updating our cars. kinda humbles a person for sure. Thanks for the sharing Tony

I'm glad some of you found it interesting. We really enjoyed seeing the buildings, some of which are original structures and those that aren't have been faithfully reconstructed. Also the info on the plaques was nice to read.
