We visited some friends near Poinciana this afternoon and as the sun started to set this is how it looked from their deck.

Pretty picturesque eh?

Probably going over to St. Augustine tomorrow to see their famous Christmas lights in the evening.

Funnily weve had clear skies today too and sun setting now - bet it would look similar if you were back home, looking over the lake

Back at the Shed, it's like this.

Last night in St. Augustine we took a trolley ride round the town to see the Christmas Lights. Hmmm.

You can enter St. Augustine over the "Bridge of Lions" crossing the Matanzas River. Spanish for slaughter, apparently.

The Bridge of Lions has some large sculptures guarding the ends. The bridge is a "Draw" bridge which raises to allow larger vessels through, or in this case, a small vessel with a tall mast.

A word of warning though, it's a bad idea to sail home from the pub!

And finally the lights tour.

And lastly checking in at the Hampton Inn for the night.

Back home this morning, going to pick up our neighbours from back home from the Gulf Coast tomorrow.

I almost forgot to mention that we had a late lunch at a place called "Prohibition Kitchen" on St. George St. (the main tourist/shopping area in St. Augustine). A nice chicken sarny.

Ours is on Calabria, off Westside Bvd. off 192, 1 mile from the 27. We bought 10 years ago. Where abouts is Windwood Quay?

Next turning after the big walmart on the 192 before it was just past what use to be medival times with the Ihop on the junction spelt it wrong it was Windward cay sold Bought it in 1998 sold it in 2004 when got divorced !!!

Thats acutally good Tony, they need the snow over there, past number of years they havent had much at all - hence all the bone dry areas causing wildfires. Also needed for drinking, irregation etc. oh and a bit of tourist industry too

Well its that time of year when the days are getting longer. Its light till 6.00pm here. I have to say that cloudless blue skies do help. Looks like a big dip in temperature is coming on Monday and chance of rain late Sunday. In the meantime it is quite nice. Foggy first off today.

Went to Clermont this afternoon after wasting almost 4 hours at OIA in the morning getting the car hire contract renewed. Went to Uncle Kenny's BBQ for some genuine BBQ food. A half rack of ribs for me.

On the way we stopped off at a Citrus Grower's where they have a store and some monster swamp trucks with old school bus bodies.

Further up the 27 is The Tiki Bar off Washington St. which is on the bank of Lake Mineola.
The Spanish Moss on these old "Live Oaks" is impressive.
