I had a n 850 Mini as my first car, when this great little motor died, we chucked in the lump out of an MG 1100. We swapped the Diff. from the Mini into the MG "box", not sure how accurate, or not, the gearing/speedo was. However suffice to say it was bloody scary quick and it very soon went all round the clock, past fuel gauge and started to bend the needle on the back of the 0 peg on the speedo. Cheap fun.:D

Tony.

You're missing one option.
I've followed @Lee :wideyed:

Edit
And @Mint

140mph in the M this euro chasing down @Phillip Baxter in his 3.0 on the autobahn but bottled it at that felt a bit light on the front end :wideyed::wideyed:

120 in the old zed but used to ride a ZZR1100 and had reason to scrub the stains from my skiddies on more than one occaision

170 on the clock down the Uttoxeter by pass. Helped to run an R6 super sport bike that showed 139bhp on the dyno and was clocked at 174 down the Sulby straight at the Isle of Man. We got 2 top ten finishes that year.

139 divide 6 x10 = 230 bhp per litre approx

Bonzo.

I don't like speed on the road. Speed is for track. Just once took it to 100mph, just to check the life in the engine. Satisfied with that, I stay on the law side, enjoying landscape with top down. I hate to contribute to the budget paying radars; when I convert the bills in gasoline liters, I see red in front of my eyes! The best speed on B roads is 50-55. I can enjoy every second the landscape, air and sound of the nature!
Long live the Zed!
