I don't think my soft top is retracing fully... It goes down on the motor but just doesn't seem to drop anywhere near low enough to comfortably fit the tonneau cover.

What's going on? Is it a common issue? How can I fix this? All experiences and thoughts appreciated. IMG_20170610_165203.jpg

Try undoing the valve on the hydraulic pump and see if it will go down any further. From the pictures it does look like it should go down a little further.

Also try lubricating all the hinge points, maybe some are a bit tight?

Can you ease the hood down manually the rest of the way without exerting too much pressure?

How do you mean manually? As in disconnecting the pump/motor completely? I've noticed sometimes the hood retracts a bit more over the few hours after opening....I'm going to try @GazHyde suggestion and loosen the valve. Not a good look with the roof hanging out too high without a tonneau.

By pushing it down with your hand.

I would check the smaller roof support bars the ones that hold the webbing if they are not retracting properly the roof will not sit flat.
