Always wondered what use the pockets were ?
I'm guessing it helps with folding the roof down and sound insulation.

All hoods, all models, all years had pockets. The face lift change was a head lining.

... join up with these guys on Facebook.... Z Series Car Club of America, ZSCCA...
I am a member of ZSSCA, and am active on Bimmerfest and Bimmerforum. I was just thinking that UK has a higher density of Z3s, and higher density of specialized shops for them, compared to the US.

OK, I thought you were looking for more info on suppliers in the US.
A higher density of cars is (I would think) down to the size of the UK and that is also true for specialists but these people have 'mostly' been around for a few years as there is quite a long history of rag top sports cars in the UK.

They are in chessington.it took about 4 hours to do.
You can catch a bus into Kingston about 15 mins away and have a look about while its being done.
There are some pics on here somewhere of ours the day it was done(gaz can you do a link)
Cheers mick

Bonnet is the same across all models and years of the range.

Hi Tim, care to share the cost with us? That colour should look great, I'm tempted to go for either dark green or the other extreme,Tan, when I have mine replaced. Although it won't be this year.

Mine has no relief pockets and made by the company who make them for bmw.

It looks better with no pockets and improves the security.

You can open the car via relief pockets!

Cheers Tony, price is 635 for the burgundy, 599 for black or tan, unsure they do the green. I've gone with this company on recommendation and that they come to you which I prefer.

Hi Tim, I'm not sure that dark green is available anywhere to be honest as I haven't started searching in earnest yet. But I think it might be a nice, if even rare option, if I can find a supplier.

I would imagine the green was a special order colour at the time? You may have to have the hood specially made in that colour but can't see it being a problem except cost maybe,

Did you manage to secure a group deal Tim, or have you looked after yourself?
