Hello everyone. I've been meaning to post on here for a while and introduce myself. I'm Chris and I'm the owner of a black 1997 1.9 Z3 (which I converted to widebody with Z3m wheels) - I have actually owned the car twice - firstly from 2007 to 2009 (when I was seduced into trading her it in for an 02 Blue z3 2.2 (nice engine but never really bonded with it) and then from 2014 until present day. Story goes back in 2014 I had a little MGF that blew up (like ... hole in the bottom of the engine blew up!) on the A422 and after I towed it home, my wife lamented and said "you're not going to get another one are you? The only convertible of yours I liked was your little black Z3". Low and behold next morning I was surfing ebay rather than working (again, as you do) and I came across my old Z3 for sale 20 miles away!! Snapped it up Buy it Now and the rest is history. She's a rolling resto (or more like 'Ship of Theseus' as my boss calls it) and desperately needs a paintjob but am slowly getting there with her. Have spent more than i'll ever confess to my wife at this point and had a widebody conversion done last year (as I think they look sooo much better), also on the 1.9 you have the bonus of being able to fit Z3m wheels. Anybody has any questions on the widebody thing feel free to give me a shout - definitely worth doing on an early 1.9 if you can get the parts cheap enough imho. Cheers …

Cheers … like the colour of your z btw … is that original?
Yes it's Montreal blue. There are a few on here. Looks great when it's clean with the sun on it.

Cheers Tony - would be great to know how you're getting on with yours @Faheem
Hi and welcome onboard. I've got most of the bits for the conversion, including some widebody wings, bumper and Z3M wheels. The plan has been to get the car fully resprayed along with the new panels. I've been meaning to get it done for a while now but have been putting it aside because work does seem to be taking over at the minute.

I'm doing a roadtrip from Lands End to John o' Groats in August so will hopefully start work after that.
