Hillman Husky (Imp)

Absolutely agree Robert. I worked at a Chrysler garage from 77 to 86, even the Simca cars were good.

Simca 1501S. Properly nice car if it wasn't rusty.
Mate of mine was an apprentice at a Rootes/Chrysler dealer in the mid to late 70s. His favourites were the Simca 1501S and the Avenger 1600GLS.

When the place closed I had bought a 1600 LS Avenger. Vinyl seats but a bloody great car ! The Talbot (Matra) Rancho, (Simca 1100 based) way beyond it's time. The Matra Simca Bagheera, another great car, saw one at Clumber Park a few weeks ago.

The worst thing is that I remember the original Husky, which looked like this.

Matra Simca Bagheera

Used to love those, always saw one and a Murena, with the three front seats, parked one behind the other here in town when on my way to work in the mornings.
Turned out later that the cars were owned by a couple living on the street, a right His & Hers :)
