If it's a Serie 1 convertible , (the rented car) I hope you enjoyed the handling on the snacking mountain roads! Though the rear seats are quite a torture...

Doing more or less your route,did you go on the cable car in Grindelwald? We really enjoyed it.then we went to andermatt and over the mountain to disentis for the night.over to gottard pass the old cobbled one it has to be one of my favourites.were now in Verbier ready for the grand st bernal pass in the morning.

Brings back some memories, that does. Like doing the Grimsel, Furka and Susten passes one after the other. Probably the most steering wheel twirling I've ever done in one day.

Looks like you are having a good time Hugh. Trouble is it all ends too soon no matter how long you spend driving around the Swiss,Italian and French Alps. I reckon you could go for a month and still not see everything you want to see

Man what a day,up ar six to find a spot on the route of the Tour de France ,had to be up a single track road halfway up a mountain.It was pouring this morning and I resigned myself to getting wet,left Sarah at the top by the finish and I headed to my spot Which was about 5 miles down, by the time I got there it started to clear up.What an experience,a real party atmosphere brill .
