Haha wait until you've been on a few cruises/meets, your head will be spinning.
A good start is wheel spacers, especially on the rear axle as it gives the car a lower, wider look. I have 20mm rear spacers on mine, bought them used from another forum member for about £20, you can get them new for around £40.

Funny you should mention that, I was looking at wheel spacers today! I do like the wider look, the alloys look a lot better when they are out with the arches!

What do you think of the 20mm spacers? Is 30mm pushing it too much? I’ve looked at the hubcentric spacers.

Also want to get new alloys when I’ve got the funds! Thinking of moving up to 17” as mine are 16” at the moment. But then I wonder if 18s would look better. Ohh the decisions!

Hi Grumps,

Thanks for the welcome, following your recommendations I think il be purchasing some 20mm spacers!

I keep looking at all the different alloy styles and struggling to decided! Need to save up some funds first so that should give me some time to figure it out! Too many nice looking alloys out there!!

Hahaha il be lucky if she cleans it, she doesn’t clean her own motor!! I’m sure after a few road trips and meets next year she will catch the zed bug!

Good call, I'm running 20mm hubcentric on the rear of both my Zeds. Certainly improves the look:thumbsup:

I had 20mm on the rear and 14mm.o the front of my Z3 Matt. I shifted them straight onto the Z4 when I bought it and added to a little lowering the 18" wheel fill the arches nicely.

Sounds good Tony, I’d like to do something with the suspension, wether that’s new springs or coil overs.
How to the spacers affect the handling on the front?

In my opinion Matt it makes the car turn in faster due to the wider track.
It looks much nicer too, the rear end especially. I'll see if I can find some pics of the Z3 later.

Tony.

ps. My Z3 had K&W coil overs on when I bought it which would've cost arou d £1200.

Not bad then, sounds like it sharpens it up a bit. Yes some pictures would be great when youv got a moment!

Talking about coil overs, is it best to avoid anything cheap? I’ve seen sets for £250ish. Sounds too cheap to me, any brands you’d recommend for a lower budget? Or is it better to hold out for some more expensive ones.

There's a saying on here re coil overs, it goes "Buy cheap, buy twice".

Tony.
