Hi all,
Bought my first ‘Toy car’ In June, my 2001 2.2 Z3. Loving the car so far, Never really worked on a car before but as this is not a daily car thought I’d give it a go by starting with the Front pads and discs, this quite quickly escalated to new bearings and hubs, new Caliper as the piston was quite rusty, refurbished the other caliper and also changed the wishbone brackets and a good old clean up of a few rusty bits!

After 2 weeks of trying to sort the car around working (no time for work when the car is in bits) she’s back on the road and loving the improvements to the handling and breaking!

Plenty more mods I’m thinking of doing, hopefully I can get some good ideas and tips and also join with some of the meets?

Cheers zedders!

Hi Matt, welcome from me near Lincoln, yup that's how it starts mate:). A good looking car, events are slowing down a little now but keep you eyes on the "Upcoming Events" forum to see what's happening near you. Where ever that is? ................... That'll be Brum then;)

Tony.

Thanks Tony, it’s quite a tidy car to be honest but I didn’t buy it expecting it to be perfect! It’s 17 yrs old!

Enjoying having a new hobby although not sure the Mrs is as happy as I’m spending most evenings on the drive either cleaning or fixing her up .

Super, il keep an eye out next year, I’d imagine most of your Zeds will be heading into hibernation soon! Yep I’m based North Brum

My old banger is an every day car mate, but I hope to retire before year's end. I bought just over 2 years ago with 16,500 miles, now got 38.
Love these cars.

Tony.

Cheers Jack, missed your message there!
No worries Matt, I'm originally from a neighbouring tribe, from the other side of the M5. I'm a Black Countryman from Brierley Hill near Dudley. A lot of us here use our Zeds all year round. My 2 are permanently ready to roll all year round.

Wow 16,500 miles was a cracking find! I wouldn’t mind using mine as Daily but as my Work provide me with a van and a load of tools il risk that around the roads of Birmingham

Yes i know it well, spend a lot of my working time around the Black Country and across to the centre of Brum.

Think I’m going to keep mine for the drier days although I’m sure I’ll miss her too much and she will come out to play lol

:welcome: Matt from me near Nottingham.
Sounds like you've got the zed bug, they are quite addictive.
