Was that Carborough or Clarborough (near Retford) Paul? Did you not venture across the River at Torksey village? What a cracking day you all had.Had a good drive out today with John stopped at Torksey Lock as he has a big interest in canal boats. White Swan shut till 4 so a good cup of tea by the lock then off for more pointless driving to find a great pub by the Canal near Retford (the Gate House Carborough) definitely worth a visit

At the Trent side of the lock there is a tarmac path down to the end of the "Arm" where you can see down to the Torksey Castle and the old Railway Bridge.Could have been Tony, we really enjoyed our time by the lock, lots of boats waiting for there slot to join the Trent some good banter and a friendly lot will be visiting again.

Yes mate, that's what we call the "Arm", the part the Romans dug many years ago to start the Fosse Dyke to Lincoln. There's quite a lot of history round Torksey, glad you all had a good day out mate. You're welcome back any time.Did that bit where the pump station is?
