Hi, I’m now on my second Z3 and aiming to make a perfect car to preserve for as long as possible, it’s a Boston green 1.9 1997, at the moment I am trying to put newer electric and heated sports seats (newer loom plug) into my car which had electric and heated seats but old loom plug/separate plugs and have ran into an issue using an adapter where the high setting doesn’t stay on for more than 5 seconds but low does, going to try swap the bases but scared of burning the seat or mismatching wires, any help would be appreciated,
Thanks Nathan

Hi Nathan and welcome, I also have the same issue on my passenger sport seat, it stays on for 5 seconds only and turns off. Let me know if you manage to fix it :D Best of luck!

Will let you know, found by some research it’s normally due to a safety switch located behind the back plastic I believe, may need to solve that but at the moment trying to fit old bases to the seats which is challenging to figure out the wires!!

BMW I believe do a wiring loom adapter to allow you to fit later seats with the slim & wide yellow plugs onto the earlier wiring connector. Try contacting Sopers of Lincoln who advertise at the foot of the main page on here.
I tried it and it had the wrong plugs and one too many, may try again
