hello, I'm a newbie too, I'm not sure where in world you are..., if in the UK, I've heard there is a guy in Wales who charges around £400. to replace the entire roof fabric. Not sure where he is, or the name of the company, but a quick phone around might be the best option. Peace.
The common repair needed on an E85 Z4 is the motor repairing and relocating into the boot. I think you're confusing this with a Z3 .

Don't think Jack Smith at Swansea covers a Z4 roof replacement just Z3's
I have found this company in the UK, more expensive than a Z3 but thats probably due to the glass rear window on the Z4.
