Hi My name is Aidan , I am new to the Forum and just want to say hello and give some backround to my Z3 ownership. I have owned three BMW Z3 cars , a Boston Green 1.9 4 cylinder year 1999 which i had for 17 years . I bought it when it was 8 months old and it was my pride and joy for 17 years i put 115k miles up on it . I came across a 6 cylinder 2.0 litre example while buying parts for the 1.9 and quickly realized it was easier and cheaper to buy a newer Z3 than to repair the 1.9 that was 2 years ago.....So I purchased the 2.0 6 cylinder year 2000 in Titan silver and fell in love with the six cylinder engine ..........It was then , I decided to keep my eye out for a low mileage 2.2 or 3.0 litre with a good body and full maintenance history. Searched the net for a full year and Finally around April last 2108 , found a 2.2 Z3 in Luton again in Titan silver with sports seats and full M everything and full service history and MOTs . Dry stored every winter with 72 k miles . What a find .
Since I bought the 2.2 I have done my best to replace as much as possible in order to prolong the life of the car. It is my daily driver and I intend driving it for the next 20 years.Serviced twice since purchase in April changed oil using Castrol and new K and N Air filter.
Replaced the following :
New 19inch deep dish Alloys and tires.
New Mitchiomoto all alloy radiator to replace leaking BMW rad.
new gates thermostat and housing
New Myele metal impeller pump
New continental belts and pullys main and AC
New Coolant over flow hose/pipe
new recovered M sport steering wheel from Germany
New Arial and grommet
installed Strut Brace
New carpets
Installed hard top fixing brackets
New Coolant reservoir cap and bleed screw
Perspex wind deflector.
I intend to replace the suspension shortly with Blisten will be looking on Forum for advice.
Will then look at uprating brakes and discs.
Just got a PIONEER DEH-80PRS CD MP3 Car stereo from my wife for Christmas which I will install shortly.
My latest Z 3 spec:
Z3 2.2i Sport Roadster
Titanium Silver
Dream Red Chameleon / Black Leather sport seats
Bolt X Spoke 42-7.5/8.5x17 replaced with 19inch BBS BMW deep dish alloys and Falken tyres.
Chrome Line exterior
Elec Operated Hood
Air Conditioning
Heated seats
M sport suspension
M sport side grilles
M sport centre console
On-Board Computer
M sport Clear lenses
Smokers package
