My Z3 alarm continually sets off, whether the car is locked or not. Oddly the car will still start even when the alarm is sounding. I have heard of the loom of doom, but any other suggestions would be gratefully received.

Hi @Neil Allday, to the forum from me to in Staffordshire. The usual suspects for triggering the alarm are the bonnet switch or the tilt sensor in the boot being drowned.

Hi and welcome, check the left hand side of the boot for water, you'll need to remove the panel that side, theres a thinamy gig for the alarm down there deep. Caused mine to keep going off and wouldn't reset.

Thanks nodzed. Your bang on! Soaking wet and nearly submerged. I have disconnected it and dried out the cables. Will that stop the alarm activating? I am not fussed about it working.

Glad you found it, stopped mine, but you will need to find the source of the water getting in. That area is most likely your arial grommet, £13 approx so a cheap fix.
