Hi , thanks for the add. I have been a proud owner of my 3.0 roadster 2003 for about 2 weeks now. I have a slight issue with my roof, I know this is a commy issue with the car. It has been relocated by the previous owner in march to the boot. It needs a helping hand to open for the first few inches. When opening you can hear the motor turning . I have tried swapping the lines and electrical terminals motor opens fast but struggles to close. I have checked and topped up the fluid,I have marked it too see if there are any leaks . So the system must work as it goes up and down fine if the lines are changed and I can hear the motor when it is trying to move so I'm a little sruck. Any advice I would be greatful

Hello and welcome to the forum. Do you have a Z3 or Z4? The Z3 roof requires a little helping hand to open it due to the positions of the micro switches. This is the way it works. Can't help with the Z4 though

Hi and welcome from me in Scotland .
Mine also is a zed 3 but there are a number of zed 4 owners on here one of them may know how to help.
What I would say though it is possibly the motor was not in great condition when relocated ( they tend to drown in oe position) so could be the motor itself that's the issue but like I said I'm sure one or more of the zed 4 owners will be able to help better.
