Hi Peter , Holland is my second favorite country, having taken several vacations there. I agree with your choice to stick with the white top. I have a 97 1.9 Boston Green with a darker green top and people ask the same things. I am changing my beige leather seats to dark green with beige inserts so keep making your car your own. JIM in " it's snowing again, Canada

Hi Peter, you say that you used to own a Simca Oceane, I worked on Simca cars 40 years ago and I've never heard of that model or seen a picture of one. I would be very interested in seeing a photo of it if you have some. One of the strangest of theirs I did lay hands on was a Matra Simca Bagheera., a 3 seater with 3 seats across the car.

Regards, Tony.

welcome to the forum Pete, sounds like you like to put your stamp on a car, make it yours :) Sylvia is a gorgeous car man, how did you sell it? was she RB25? sounds like you have got to grips with the Zed all ready so fair play, enjoy the car and the forum, im sure @hard top will be more than happy to welcome you in his mother tonge :)
Hi David, I had a long think if I should leave the Zed original, but on the end, for who? Only for the oohs and aahs from others that it is still original? It is just like my Android phone, I modify it until it is to my likeness.

The Silvia was just the ordinary automatic, but a nice car to drive. No dents and scratches. I had it for 3 years and sold it with a small profit.

By the way, good looking Z and I like the white hardtop on it, looks smart and as you type, kind of retro.

Hi Hardtop, Good to see some Dutchies here as well. I follow what is happening with Sinterklaas via the Dutch online newspapers, I just can't believe what is going on there. If I should force my way like what is happening in holland the same way here in NZ, they only would tell me two words. It starts with the F end ends with off... It is just one of the reasons we left Holland.

Welcome Peter :)

Looks like a lovely Sienna red you have there. Like to see some better pictures of the white hard top on the car if you get chance.

Shout if you have any questions,

Gary
These are last years photos. I have de-tangonized the indicators recently. The misses raised her eyebrows when the headlights went into the oven , she just wanted to make cookies...

Hi Tony,
When I bought the Oceane, I had this in mind within a couple of years.

But when I left Holland, it was already sitting like this for 8 years in my garage.

You know, you get kids and all your spare time is gone. I sold it to a guy who had somebody to restore it, but when it was for 95% finnished, he paste away sadly. The car is now in Belgium, By the way, it was imported from the UK. I tried to get information from the DVLA, but they had just threw away all the paper files of old cars..

Very striking colour combo, Peter, the white hard top gives it a completely different appearance with the rich tones of the russet red body!
BTW Welcome to the Madhouse, it's a great forum with like minded Zedders!

Hi, I'm Peter and live in Napier, New Zealand. You can't hear my accent, but I came 6 years ago from the Nederlands to New Zealand. I am from the province of North Holland, so I can say I am from Holland

2 years ago, I decided to have something different for a ride. Normally I always drove Japanese cars for the reliability. Mostly Toyota, but my last one was a Nissan Silvia (a so called boy racers car)

I bought the Zed with 34.000km on the clock, which was not a lot. Normally you see them here for sale with more than 100.000km. So that looked like a good deal to me, and it was only minutes away for sale:). It is my daily car. I do about 10.000km a year.

I have done some mods. I have modified my tail lights with dual color leds, and I have recently build in angeleyes and dual color leds in the indicator reflectors, which are running in a sequence a few seconds (just like the nightrider) if you lock/unlock the doors. I am working on a video clip to show.
A year ago I was able to find a hardtop (not often for sale). It is a white one, and I often get the question "when are you gone paint it red?) The fact is, I like it like this. It is a kind of retro thing, and it is my zed:happy:

Just replaced the bushes of the drivers side seat. Thanks to the manual on zroadster.
By the way, this is my third roadster. My first one was a 1960 Simca Oceane, but I never got that one road worthy. The second one (not really a roaster, but convertible) was a 1988 Toyota Celica, which I had to sell sadly :(, because it was to dear to bring it to NZ, and it was of course a left hand drive.

Tomorrow I will put the bushes in the other side.

Cheers,
Peter
Welcome and enjoy
