Thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome! :thankyou:

Me and the better half took the Z out today to Baddersley Clinton, not necessarily the best day weather wise, but the lovely autumn colours made up for it.

Gail, Brian4, Russell O or Faheem, if you ever have room in the convoy for another Z, please let me know. Can't wait to be part of a gaggle(??) of Zeds!! ;)

Hope to meet you all soon and swap some stories, experiences and ideas.

P.S. What is a group of Zeds called? (Gaggle, group, pride??)

Hi Grumpy, nothing quite so grand, just a lowly team manager me. ;)

That's a lovely example of a Z3 you have there. :)

:welcome:Welcome from just down the road in Nuneaton. There are a few with Z's in our neck of the woods @Brian4 @Russell O
Hi @Gail, do you guys manage to get a run out together often??
Really looking forward to meeting some other Z owners to compare experiences and talk Z stuff with. I'm pretty new to the Z ownership but I've done a few jobs on the old girl so far but nothing too taxing yet!

Hi @Fraser as Gail says nothing arranged yet but short notice can usually be arranged this time of year and if you need any help just shout up or call for a chat.

Hi all!

I'm 39, work in distribution and live in South Leicestershire.

I've had my z3 for about 5 months now and I absolutely love it! I bought it as a second car to go out and enjoy the summer with, (midlife crisis I guess) and it certainly hasn't disappointed. :) :)

It's a 1998 1.9 in Atlantic blue, and as soon as I can work out how to get some pictures off my phone and onto here I will post some pics, because having read previous entries I am fully aware that's all you guys are interested in! ;)

Hopefully I'll join some of you for some runs out in the Zeds soon!

Happy Zeding everyone!
Welcome from the other side of the pond. Frankie

Thanks @Brian4. I have a few plans to get the Z ready for next summer.
I've already got a thermostat to install, (engine temp doesn't seem to rise quickly enough and hangs well below the 90 mark most times) but I want to get the water pump done at the same time whilst in there. Is there anything else worth doing whilst I'm there? Belts etc?

If you're doing the water pump you may as well do the belts too unless you have a positive record that they've recently been changed. Also have a good close look for any deterioration of any rubber items at the front end, ie bushes, hoses etc.

Thanks Jack,
I've got no history of belts being done or anything apart from normal services. I want to try and do as much work myself on the car so that I know what's been done and when, but it's my first forray into this kind of car ownership. I have done brake discs and pads and services on other cars before, but not gone as far as taken out radiators and pumps etc.
I'll have a look whilst I'm there then at the belts etc. They're cheap enough to buy anyway, then I know they're done. I'm guessing that there's a tensioner there somewhere too? Is it worth replacing that as well??
Sorry about all the questions but I like to have a good idea what I'm up against before I get there!

Yes, I'd change the tensioner too just for peace of mind
