Welcome to the forum @TRUDI LUBIEWSKI from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. Fine looking car that you have. I thought I'd like to get a hardtop for my car but they're hard to come by and extremely expensive over here. I hope you get out on a few cruises. @t-tony is having a get together soon. It would be a bit of a drive from Scotland but a great chance to get out and drive that beast with the top down and the wind in your hair. You could probably book a place to stay over and return the next day. I was there last year. It was a bit of a trip for me and I couldn't take my Z but it was such a wonderful thing to meet SO MANY of the members at the same time. They'll all make you feel right at home. I believe another member from Scotland is attending, @tower. There is always the possibility that you could meet him and other members that might be going there from Scotland and have your own cruise just getting there. It might turn out to be a great deal of fun for you JUST GETTING THERE. It's just a thought, but an exciting one. I've met @tower last year at the same meet and he's a peach. I don't think I can make the 3200 mile trip this year but I certainly did't regret it last year as we had so much fun. See if you can make the trip, you won't regret it. Good luck and once again, welcome to the forum. Frankie

Well that's reassuring Trudi, I'm seriously thinking of getting a HT as this is now my one and only car. The tyre noise I get is mainly due to the crap road surfaces here in Lincs. Do they use the tar and gravel road dressing system up where you are?

Tony.
Yes same road coverings... Im on my way to get this ht looked at. I only hope that having this in place for winter doesn't effect the sound when I use the softie again asap. I only wanted ht to preserve the softie. If I cant get it right im taking it back !! Hope the guy understands, he was quite nice .... paid £850 looks GREAT.

Thanks Nodzed did you get it quiet or is there always some wind noise? Had my mech look at her today, roof sitting perfectly he packed the corners at front where the rubber was a little depressed (like me lol) its much better.so ive decided to keep it. Later when theres more time we can tweek it again but wind noise is tolerable as its very slight and only really at over 60 now.Hope however when I come to raise my softie its still as quiet.

Hi trudi, no I only had it on to drive the car home after I bought it, took it off once home and its been off ever since, it was horrendous over 70 ish serious wind noise from the front seal, my is same as perfect with the soft top up. I only try to go out if I can get the soft top down ;). fair weather Zedder I'm afraid. But from my under standing of the Z3 the hardtop does need to be fitted correctly and with a bit of precision, there is a thread on here somewhere but prob different for the Z4, but there's bound to be a 4 owner with some advice for you, try a post on the Z4 Knowledge-base thread. You never know your luck.
