Hi and welcome from near Lincoln. Sounds as though the door solenoid in the o/s door or the linkage from the latch to the solenoid is at fault.

Tony.

ps. I like the sly upgrade ............ my kind of a man.:)
Hi Tony. Thanks for the tip and will add to my list near the top to check. With my new remote Batteries the fob does the reverse, eg locks & opens o/s door & boot but not the n/s door. What slightly mystifies me (which is not difficult) if remote open & closes drivers door and central locking, why won't the key activate it the same... The joys of motoring my father always quotes and I suppose it's why we buy these cars, and sheds, and go fishing when we don't want to hurt fish, watch Mumma Mia with the wife when you can't stand musicals..

We are a bit further north than Tamworth nearer to Stafford so not sure where Dosthill Hall is but I guess it's Tamworth. :)
Hello Mrs M. Yes Dosthill is an area just south of Tamworth. Was Sir Robert Peels house once I told but now has been chopped up into apartments for rich Brummies. Many years ago anyway. Looks like your Blue Beauty has some nice wheels.. Have you been a Bema Babe long ??

Hello Andy. Thanks for the welcome. Andy, do they make you wear Crash Helmets when you put your soft top down in Holland.... Surely roll bars are more comfortable.... :ymdevil:

My s***'s custom!
Been on as a guest many times and enjoyed some of the threads so when my New Bluey arrived bit the bullet and signed up.

Not a mechanic and not to good at DIY so will more than likely be firing stupid questions at you all to help me with..

It's funny as had never really paid any attention to Z3's Z4's before and I'm not sure I even liked the big nosed girls. Then a friend wanted shot of their Auto 1.9 (with hardtop), only 60K miles I couldn't say no as my Volvo Cab (C70) had been customised by a bus in Chichester and I thought their Insurers would right her off as 120k, 12 years old. They didn't and I got her back repaired but by then then Z3 bug had got me. I did feel it lacked a bit of GO so let it GO when another friend wanted to buy and love it, which gave me the chance to go back shopping again..... What I haven't mentioned is Wifey thinks I'm buying them to sell to make a profit !!!! Little does she know I sold the first for £1000 less than I paid and the new one S3 FEN cost me her holiday plans for Christmas... More time in the spare bedroom again.. It's worth it I think. Just funding 2 Insurances & 2 road taxes.
Funny you should say that....my wife didn't really like my "surprise" when I turned up on the drive with mine. Who knew wives like to be consulted when it comes to spending thousands on toys.....
The main difference between my car and my wife is that the car doesn't make me sleep in the spare room if I look at other cars on the Internet......

Hi Alex, welcome from me in Hertfordshire, before you try anything else regarding your locks try squirting WD40 into your locks and any other orifice In and around the catches, I had the very same problem couple years ago, after a couple of hours it still didn't work so booked it into Main Agent, next morning it was working so cancelled M/A, still no problem after 2yrs. The WD40 did weep out down the sills a bit but wiped off no problem, shows just how much of it I used, worth a try at only a few quid a tin. If that fails then Tony's advice as always is sound as a pound being in the trade. Good luck. Rha, Roy.
