Been on as a guest many times and enjoyed some of the threads so when my New Bluey arrived bit the bullet and signed up.

Not a mechanic and not to good at DIY so will more than likely be firing stupid questions at you all to help me with..

It's funny as had never really paid any attention to Z3's Z4's before and I'm not sure I even liked the big nosed girls. Then a friend wanted shot of their Auto 1.9 (with hardtop), only 60K miles I couldn't say no as my Volvo Cab (C70) had been customised by a bus in Chichester and I thought their Insurers would right her off as 120k, 12 years old. They didn't and I got her back repaired but by then then Z3 bug had got me. I did feel it lacked a bit of GO so let it GO when another friend wanted to buy and love it, which gave me the chance to go back shopping again..... What I haven't mentioned is Wifey thinks I'm buying them to sell to make a profit !!!! Little does she know I sold the first for £1000 less than I paid and the new one S3 FEN cost me her holiday plans for Christmas... More time in the spare bedroom again.. It's worth it I think. Just funding 2 Insurances & 2 road taxes.

Hi Andy & Shelly. Thank you for the welcome.. Gratefully received and as hinted I already have a bag of questions for you knowledgeable bunch. Still tinkering with Bluey to understand what's right or wrong at the moment.. Things like the key only locks all the doors & boot from the passenger side.... Not a problem but a nuisance as forget and lock drivers door which leaves the rest open... Put new battery in remotes and going to play with that tonight when get home from work...

Thank you Mrs M, I used to own Dosthill Hall many years ago up your neck of the woods... No not rich we bought it as our company H.Q. but it went to the receivers when they Zonked us.... Lovely part of the world but couldn't get to grips with the snow dome.... XX

Hi and welcome from near Lincoln. Sounds as though the door solenoid in the o/s door or the linkage from the latch to the solenoid is at fault.

Tony.

ps. I like the sly upgrade ............ my kind of a man.:)
