HiHi and welcome from Oxfordshire. Don't forget to post up some pictures of your new pride and joy. As for suspension it depends if you want to lower it or remain stock. You can find plenty of info by searching the site. There lots of info in owners logs.
Unless it has a "serious" fluid leak then a shocker is pass and advise. The leak has to be assessed by an experienced mechanic/tester using his/her experience to make a decision. The M.O.T. Test is only looking for the minimum requirements, not that the vehicle should be perfect. Give the tester a break!Hi
Thanks for the warm welcome, we live in Formby just north of Liverpool. looking to just to keep her as standard, so looking for a decent quality shock replacement as the near side is leaking ! how it past a mot I don't know but it was on the advisories ?
Thanks Tony@Sean d has recently fitted a set of Monroe shocks on his 2.0 and is very happy with them. We fitted them at my house a couple of weeks ago, I've tagged him so he'll be here soon.
Tony.
ps. Agree re the shock leak, that was assessed 5 months ago and that is the whole point of advising items that need rectification, it is not stating that they will be ok till the next test but that they need attention as soon as you can.![]()
Welcome to the forum from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.....................FrankieThanks Tony
As you want to keep the car "standard" fit sachs shock absorbers. Had a quick look on eurocarparts and carparts4less web sites to give you a link, but both return that they don't have parts listed at present, so it may be an ebay job.Hi
