:nailbiting:just been to the dealers to buy some hex bolts for the diff. It needs 6 of them and looked at the ones in the realoem and phoned up Halliwell Jones to check. He told me to order 6 of the part number 07119921541. The description states they are longer in size but according to the parts guide they are the replacements. So I ordered 6 (5 on back order) but paid for them all today.......AT £7.29 +VAT PER BOLT. Because I'd ordered other items I didn't really check the invoice until I got home.
I don't even think they are the right ones, but at that price I'm hoping there's been a mistake.

My questions are, what's so special about these bolts?
Are there alternatives?

Over £40 for what's possibly the wrong bolts seems mildly :nailbiting: excessive!

Hmmm!

But not surprising, some things are stupid money from the dealer (heater bulbs) and other things are really good value (rocker cover gasket)

Why can't you reuse the existing bolts?
Because of the age of them, there is the possibility that one or two may not be reusable. So if there is an issue I'd prefer to have them and not need them, rather than the opposite.

Surely a hardware store would have similar ones. They are high tensile the only difference to me seems the BMW ones are black and not zinc coated.

Are these the one for the guibo/donut?
If so I believe they must be replaced with new when changing that part according to the BMW workshop manual.
