Here we go again.

Perhaps invite him for dinner Tony

And another thing @Dakar Z3 , did you go to the right pub for our cruise weekend mate?

Yesterday we decided to visit a couple of places south of here. First was a place called "Spook Hill" which is similar to a place in Scotland where a vehicle rolls "up hill".

Then to Bok Tower Gardens, which is a really nice place. Great facilities and amenities. Also it is a really tranquil and peaceful place, except when the man is playing the bells up in the bell tower (they're played by using something similar to an organ key board.) Apparently the bells were made in Loughborough, Leics.

Some more. The tower was built on one of the highest points in the state of Florida which is 298 ft. above sea level.

After leaving here we went over to Lakeland (about 55 miles) to visit the Direct Tools store. Then had a meal at Smokey Bones in Lakeland. Sweet Thai pork belly and BBQ beans.

We got back home around 7.45.

Tony.

I also forgot to mention that on Monday and Tuesday the skies over Central Florida have been very misty due to smoke blowing down all the way from the wild fires still burning in Canada. You can see the effect in a picture from the Bok Tower looking out over the valley.
20231003_144246.webp

Usually you can see for miles. Vulnerable people were warned to stay indoors till it cleared.

Tony.

I live over here ( Ohio ) and Im enjoying the pictures . Gotta love the Spanish moss in the trees .

It looks very nice on the trees. There is a bit around at the villa too. However it's not moss, nor is it Spanish so how it got it's name I don't know.

Hi Tony, sorry for the late reply, had a paint brush in my hand for the last 2 weeks at home.

We were at the Fox and Hounds on Gainsbrough Road, Willingham by Stow

Just pulling your leg mate. Thought you might fancy this one in Kissimmee, Florida on US192.

Tony.

We had the ADT guy (Mark) out on Thursday to repair the alarm at the villa, also while he was here he fitted an additional sensor on the patio door out to the pool.
We asked him for a recommendation for a local restaurant and he suggested "Harry's old Place" in the Lakeland area about 30 miles away. So we went tonight. I had Steak and Shrimp and Shirl had Scallops.

Looks good Tony - nice out of the way place

Today we went to a place called Cherry Pocket to the country restaurant there.
I had beer battered Shrimp and fries with coleslaw.

Shirl had Garlic Sea Scallop. Then we shared this, which i have to say was not a patch on Shirl's Key Lime Pie.

Price very reasonable too.
A very photogenic place with Spanish Moss in the trees.

Another one which deserves a return visit. I hope the dash cam caught the remoteness of the area for us.
