Here vs there-.org vs .net

Back in 2008 when i had my MLC and bought Zeddy, .net was the main site and had a great knowledge database.

As stated by others, around 2011 this site appeared and has not looked back since.

I have not been on either much for a few years (been on a mission) but now it is clear which has developed most in that time and you are reading it.

I joined .net when I bought my Z3 back in 2009, and after visiting the site for a while I found it very hard work for a "Technophobe" like me so eventually I didn't bother going on there any more.
One time around Christmas I stumbled across this forum and posted my Intro pics and received a warm welcome from Gaz and a "different" one from Mike @hard top along the lines of "I wouldn't put that crap on my car" ( I did have a few decals on my car;)) but since then I have realised what Mike is all about and I'm glad to be here and accept the ribbing I get from him. This forum is easy to access and to contribute to and I do appreciate the many friends me and Shirl have made through this community.

Tony.

I have three sites to flit between org., net. & z3mcoupe. I find things of interest on each site and I've got friends on all three sites. Though z3mcoupe is my main forum, been on it since 2004.
I also even still nip back to M3Cutters and PistonHeads sites every now and again.

Morning Big Ears @t-tony.
Back in them days I was a mod on here and you was being vetted as to your suitability to partake in the day to day goings on of this little club after the photos you posted of your motor covered in stickers as if it was a five year old's toy car !!

Fearing that you might not have 100% between said appendages the question was asked.

:D

that was the first site I went to when I purchased my Zed this spring. Didn't like it . didn't feel included. Hell I may never meet 90% of you guys but you have already helped me a ton and I feel included and so enjoy the smart ass remarks.

When I was looking for my Z3 I registered on both sites.

I found both sets of forum users to be really friendly - one of the .net chaps even called me and talked me through a few key points to check before I purchased any Zed (which was really valuable for me as a Zed 'noob').

I tend to frequent this site more now due to there being more activity going on (plus of course all the forum members & the friendly banter)

Variety is good - thats what i tell my wife anyways

Only been to the Dark Side once ...... I wont go back

Hardtop is never rude. He just lives in a parallel universe. :-)

I found .net after I bought my Z and found it very useful but after it disappeared in 2011 and Gaz started .org I used both for a while. Over the years .org has evolved massively but . net is till the same as it was when I joined in 2008. I still look at it ocasionally but very rarely.

Still remember/laugh at your opening post and HT's response - give you your due you caught on very quickly:thumbsup: but your stickers were crap =))

All the members you see that joined around Dec 2011 came over to here when Gary and @board started this site as he says as a temp measure when .net went AWOL for a couple of months

It's been one hell of a temporary measure, never looked back since. I still go on .net but never post like most people on there. If I don't visit either for a few days I have 2/3 new posts to read over there and 2/3 pages worth on here. Long live Zorg!

Classic =))

I never knew there was a Zroadster.net until I read this! I usually am found at Z4-forum.com which obviously would be no good for those with a Z3! Learn something new everyday. Only found here after doing a random search for Zroadster parts!! Glad I found here though, never would have known the Z4 coupé spoiler even existed:thumbsup:
