Newbie just saying Hi.
Will keep it brief my name is Tracy i live in Hertfordshire Broxbourne. After having a Z3 many years ago when they first came out I decided I would get another. It will be used regularly so I needed a fairly decent usable car but with a small limited budget it was not going to be easy and boy it wasn't
I guess I had forgotten the age of early cars and my Max budget of 2.5 k
All I wanted was a service history decent and usable car in decent condition.
The search was on. I picked out around 6 or 7 cars which had to be a 1.9 for insurance and fuel consumption
Either auto of Manuel box as long as it suited my needs.

Started looking and omg they looked nothing like the pictures or as described .Anyway less said about that
I set the mileage to view cars up to about 60 miles and after seeing a good few and a few trips out they certainly were not good cars and all needed lots of work and money spending on them.
This was not going to plan. We had 3 to look at in one day last week. The first 2 you guessed it were poor. One was advertised as having a service history but turned out it never had any at all
I was even looking at cars now above my budget without luck.
Yes I know what some will say" its an old car it will need work" I appreciate that and a little is fine not loads of things and loads of money for me.
After a good few miles and feeling tired I had given up and wondered if it was worth looking at the last one?
As it was not far i thought why not. It was a trade in at a high end dealers who sell Lambos Ferrari's etc. it was advertised as metallic red which i thought would be maroon. Not my favourite colour but was willing to look.
As soon as I saw it the car it was a different league . it was actually bright red which was the colour of my original car many years ago. Its not perfect but at least the roof and back window were half decent and the paintwork was good with a few little age related car park dings only to be expected.
So it is a Z3 1997 P 1.9 Manual, bright red with black roof and interior. Full service history with bills almost every MOT 74,500 miles it has a brand new exhaust and brake pads fitted for a new 12 months MOT.
Yes it needs a few things doing but usable sound car that can be used regularly.
Only picked it up Friday and no problem with the 42 mile drive home down the M25 got lots a looks. Not sure why maybe because you don't see many or the fact it's fire engine red?
As said few things need addressing discovered 3rd brake light not working no big deal, radio is a bit hit and miss tuning it as it is aftermarket.
Advisory on mot says lower ball joints slight play and it does wander a bit .i will get them done but does not say whether inner or outer
After looking on euro car parts not sure which to buy inner or outer ?!
Think that's enough sorry to waffle on.
Will add some photos soon.

Welcome Tracy from Milton Keynes..... I have the same car - one year newer but 45,000 miles more on the clock and its just great! I hope you really enjoy it

BTW - 3rd brake light seems to work on 50% of members' cars!
