BMW Recalls 156,000 Vehicles With 6-Cylinder Engines
By CHRISTOPHER JENSEN APRIL 10, 2014

The action comes after the automaker began fixing the same models in China, BMW said “the bolts holding the variable camshaft timing (Vanos) unit housing may become loose or, in extreme cases, break.”
“If ignored, the problem can become progressively worse, eventually leading to no-start conditions, stalling and engine damage.”

Got to love non Vano lumps.......;)

Hi Mik3y
You look to have an nice car there. You need to get it out soon on those lovely Yorkshire Moor roads. I have a 1.9 M44 and it goes just fine and is a better engine than the VW GTI I once owned.
This is a great forum and provides so much knowledge and the banter is amusing too.
Hey Gary, do I get M44 Massive status as well?
Enjoy your car.

Jim, have you actually driven a Z3 yet? All that snow etc etc
You know I haven't with the car still on English soil. Shipping date May 7 arriving Canada May 19. goes into storage until I can fly out to take it on it's maiden voyage of 2500 miles to home. Shouldn't have to worry about snow but it has been known to fall in June. Sorry, I really wasn't going to mention snow but you have a way of dragging it out of me. JIM

I had to replace the CAT two months ago. The exhaust developed a rattle and my man diagnosed a decomposed cat (the precious metal variety). Cost me £380 fitted but sounds much, much better and will be MOT safe for years to come!!!
I used to live in the West Riding in another life. My first home was in Farsley, Pudsey. I was a territory rep covering most of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. I loved those open roads. Living in the suburbs of London is definitely a different driving experience. Good luck with the exhaust fit.

Hi Tony
Market Rasen was on the edge of my patch but I did take on Lincoln for a year or so before I moved back South.
The boot of my car was filled with fresh farm produce and fish from Grimsby on the homeward journey.
Very nice place to live.
Cheers Mike

Hi Bonzo, pics of the Herpes wig. Would love to see someone wearing one. Seems like you and the kid have a sword fight going, do we need a time out and return to a neutral corner before someone loses an eye? JIM

I've tidied up some of the posts as it was going very much off topic of welcoming @Mik3y to the forum. For those that have opted in to the 'Not safe for work' section, you can carry it on in there without offending anyone!

Cheers, Gary
