Hello Guernsey

Been led to Guernsey for 30 days work due to being messed about with my agency. Will see from there from both parties if I’ll stay longer than 30 days though.

Did not get much done on the ///M before leaving but managed to tidy up the severely rusted up callipers and back plates.

But now have knocking from the rear. Nothing present from spinning the wheels while up on axel stands but the sound disappears on braking. All surfaces cleaned and painted prior to reassembly with new hand brake shoes discs and pads. Frustrated at that but will have to wait.

Early start last Friday to be on the ferry from Poole much nicer scenery than Haysham

A nice welcome with the Cannon Salute just see the wisp of smoke from the wall.

Guernsey is a great little island. But I suppose being there to work is a bit different than just for a short break.

Wished I had the Zed here though instead of the cr-v but been pony shanking to the pub 20 minute stomp to get some pre hoisting pint glass excercise though.

Good luck on the island. I wanted to go there while on a cruise ship but I was late getting back to the ship on the previous port and they pulled my crew card for the next port which was Guernsey. Soooooo................................Didn't Sean Connery used to live there?..........Frankie

My mother and father in law have a week on Guernsey every year. They love it there.

Not a bad place to work Mark, there are much worse. Shame to be away from the Zed....and family though

Have been playing tourist today. I had a good drive around just over half of the island as the big kid inside could not resist climbing up some rock faces to see if there was a way into some of the bunkers. Not just the Germans who built fortifications here though. Some nice scenery and nice clear sea a nice day spent a singed forehead but not bad. Nothing some beers can’t sort out.

Easy on the anaesthetic mate . Great pictures Mark, thank you for sharing them. I bet it was interesting looking in those old "battlements". I enjoyed it when we visited the Castillo at St. Augustine a few years ago, amazing to think England once held sway over this part of the world.

Think I’ve just p***** some landlord off. Just left a pub taking a rather massive group of Frenchies with me to another pub on the way giving them some guided tour from my sleeve. At the moment free drinks for me from an appreciative group but unfortunately I’m too much of a gentleman to take advantage but having a good time with my shitty French

Decided to leave Guernsey, made some good friends outside of the hospital but was not so keen on my assignment.

Never mind currently at Birmingham international thanks to the booking company mucking up ferry dates so will have to wait to bring my jelopy back over to the Isle of Man. Have been given orders by the C&C this is my last one off the mainland and she doesn’t mean another three year stintmmm TT 2019
