Hello.

Seems that most Zroadster.org members are British. I'm an American, currently splitting time between Fort Worth, Texas (official residence) and northeastern West Virginia. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to live near Stroud, Gloucestershire in the beautiful Cotswolds. I was in England for six months, but I wish I could have stayed longer.

My car is a 1998 M Roadster 3.2L. I'm not sure of the specific engine, probably the S52.

Thanks, Tony. I've thought about driving out to West Texas with my Roadster. There are some roads out there that are flat enough and still open enough to ensure that my 155MPH governor is working properly ;) But, no, I'd probably chicken out somewhere in the double digits.

Tyler, we are looking at driving the western side of route 66 this spring out to the Pacific coast. We have a home in Florida and are thinking of flying out to our start point and hiring a Mustang. Would love to do it in my Z4 but that's not possible, but a roadster really is a must (hats and sunscreen aside). Looking forwards to the desert section and those long and nearly empty roads. @FRANKIE (from NJ) drove his Z3M roadster back from California with a UK member a few years ago taking in many well known places en route inc. the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon. Frankie also drove down to meet with us and 2 other forum members in Kissimmee in his 1.9 Z3.

Tony.

Hi again Tyler, you mentioned you in Cornwall a while ago, were you in the US airforce ? we had a US Squadron at RAF St Mawgan which is only about 15 miles from where I live. Some of the American guys lived in our village and used our local pub. The US pulled out about 15yrs ago now and RAF St Mawgan changed to a civilian airport which is now Newquay Airport.

Hi Doug, welcome from me near Lincoln UK. Yes, majority of members are from UK, though there are a good number over the pond. Hoping to be out west in the spring, flying over from our home in Florida to drive the western part of route 66 out to the Pacific coast. Wish I could bring my Zed over but will have to "make do ;)" with a Mustang.

Tony.

Thanks tony. There are places in the states that you can rent specialized cars pretty reasonably. turo.com is one of them. You might even find a Z4 to rent.

Sounds like you have a fun road trip ahead of you. I used to live in western Arizona. I miss the desert.

So many times I had planned to drive over to Forest of Dean, but something kept coming up and I ran out of time. I think maybe I saw Forest of Dean across the Severn from a high overlook on the Cotswold Way trail.
