Well this is what its all about, the 944 (sort of a barn find) took 7 years with odd weekends getting the old girl tidy and reliable, so in June this year took my son on a road trip 8 days across Europe about 2300 miles covered and made it there and back to the Stelvio Pass Italy that was one of my wishes along with Colditz Castle just on of many site quickly visited on route.

Bit of video to watch here:
sorry tried to add vimeo but its not allowed, is there a preferred site for video that can be used on the forum

Love the road trip video! Got to drive a brand new 86 944S turbo down the Rhine River Rd in a fine freezing drizzle with 180kn hairpins!! Loved it and had a chance to buy the car a year later but bought a 58 Mercedes 190sl with HT AND 53,000 miles on it. Was pretty rough body interior wise but was only 5k$! Still restoring it when my health allows. Then had a chance at a 77 924, low milage for 1700$ so it's sitting beside my shop. JIM

You should probably read this thread. If you're lucky the ideal person to help is not too far from you but that's for him to volunteer.

https://zroadster.org/threads/barn-find-z3m-advertised.20413/

You also have a good offer from @Nodzed who is an experienced Z3M owner/restorer.
That's it the actual car .....so its got me thinking and its right on my doorstep too rather than travelling around to country getting no luck, I've looked at it but didn't want rush into it as l don't have the knowledge to commit .....so hence me asking you guys.
Plus its first one I've ever seen l don't know the trouble areas or haven't driven one either I have too say did look like a nob looking over it.

So you can see why I'm here, the car stood for a while outside paint flat with the odd scabby rust spots, the front has damage it hit a deer...oh dear! The hood fails to operate, EM light on and airbags too, previous MOT reported noisy engine on startup ?

The guy selling possible knows he paid over the top and I've sort of told him so too, but I really need to do my homework before I committ.
