is it missing or somewhere else . took glove box out cant find it there ether. would it work on number 4 if it was missing ?

Usually it will work only on full speed if the resistor has failed but only if the wiring connected is still in place. If the connector isn't in place there will be no live feed.

If you have AC, the blower resistor is in the fan under the cowl, if you don't the blower resister is in the passenger footwell in the centre console section.

its a non aircon. cant see it behind the consul . does it connect direct to the switch
No, it's situated in the plastic ducting on the right hand side, difficult to see at first glance but it is there, let me have a look for a photo for you

ok thanks. do you no where the wiper relay is too .
Yes it's behind the glovebox, it's quite a large relay unit sits in the cradle with the other electronics.

I will have a look tomorrow , ive left the glove box out till i sort all the probs .
I replaced my resistor yesterday, longest part of the job was getting the wiper arms off. I bought some new clips because I thought I was bound to break them, only broke one.
