i had the seats base of mine reupholstered and since the the airbag light kept showing.on removal of the seat covers i found wires that had been taped together,no heat pad and no sensor pad.there are two very thin black wires which had been cut or snapped.two red wires that where joined together and at the back of the base pad is 2 clear wires with part of the thin black wire attached to them.where was your heat pad fitted to the base?was it just on the foam ?

My heat pads are between the foam and the leather seat cover, the white connector is for the seat motor, the black connector is for the heated seats and the 2pin small white connector at the back is for the seat belt pretensioner. The cheapest way to reset the airbag warning light, provided there isn't a fault is to buy a Airbag Reset Tool Diagnostic Scanner Code Reader B800 or borrow one!

thank you for the reply.ive tried that but it wont clear it looks like sensor pad is missing.i think they must have damaged the occupancy pad and just disposed of it.

If its the occupancy sensor being absent then fit a bypass resistor to the wiring, available on ebay, it will fool the car into thinking the pad is there. Only downside is that it will register as someone being in the seat all the time even if its unoccupied so in the event of a crash with no one in the seat the passenger airbag will deploy.

thank you for your response. i also bought the bypass but cannot find where that would fit.according to the supplier there should be a black plug under the seat that the bypass should fit into.but none of the plugs which you can see in pics will accept the bypass.

Take a look at the wiring diagram, its in the Resources on this Forum, you can download it in pdf format seat heating on pages 186 and 187
Wiring colour code on page 11
There are two versions one for early cars and one for later cars so chose the right one for your car.
The black connector in your picture is connector X733 in the diagram under the seat 4 pin type for heated seat connection.

Page 145 shows the wiring for seat belt pyro buckles. Page 181 for seat motor wiring.
