Hey everyone. I’ve owned my car for going on three years now. The other night when I was out for a drive, I felt the side mirror and it was warm. I checked the owners manual, and it says that the mirrors are heated when the ignition switch is on. What? Uh, okay but it seems weird. Did you all know about this?

Yes, I did , although mine is a Sport model if that makes any difference. One of the quirks of a Z3;)

heated door mirrors and washer jets were an option that I had to specify when ordering mine.

Yes, in 1997 (at least) heated mirrors/washer jets were an option on both the M44 and 2.8 models. My car has these installed.

They say you learn something new everyday 🌞
As I didn’t know that 🙂

We're talking Z3 here Shelly, not sure if it's the same on your Z4;)

All my Z3s had heated mirrors permanently active, bought a Z4 e89 and no heated mirrors 🫤

Bloody cheap ‘ol cars those Z4’s  =))=))

Thanks everyone. I neglected to add that my car is a 2000 2.8 5 speed with sport package.

Mine's a march 99 pre face lift M44. No options installed. No heated seats, no aircon, no anything. So many blanking covers on the console and so many loose connectors everywhere. The absolute pauper version if ever there was one.

But the mirrors are heated leading me to believe they were standard at least on that model.

E86 Z4 has that option

My 97 z3's mirrors are heated...then again, they're black, and it's usually 100+ degrees outside, so...
