Had some tinkering time today and decided to see how bad the headlights where, they where pretty shot with a mass of small surface chips and looked pretty sorry for them selves

Firstly I hit them hard with 800 grit on a DA sander

Followed by 2500 grit and a final DA with 3000, they where then polished with G3

And washed with Cif bathroom mousse

I'm really pleased with the results as they look virtually new, they will of course be split, detangoed and halos fitted

I've already accepted the fact I'll never live that down baha
I think your big mistake was not overheating your headlight but actually posting about it on the forum...…...lesson learned;)

Mate, it wasn't the fact you did it, just the fact you told all of us ;)

Sean, was going to comment on your progress thread that you should de-tango. Glad to see you have that planned

Look like new, great job. I like the "tango" though, depending on the cars colour.

I Think you have to seal them or they will deteriorate again
A good coat of Carnuba will do the job, it will be stored in a garage and not see the sun that much as its the UV that causes problems with some headlights
