What's the general opinion on fitting aftermarket lights as opposed to refurbish the originals? _20190127_170602.webp

Depends on the look you want.
I would have the ones you have looking new on both sides in less than 15 minutes

Is that with sanding and compounding?
I want to try it but a bit nervous about sanding lenses?

Its really easy if you have the right gear, can be done by hand but much easier with a power polisher, for deep stuff I use as course as 240 grit on a DA first and then move down the grit to 500, 800, 1000, 2500, 3000 and then polish with Farecla G3 compound, you can make the worst lens' look new

Might have to give it a try bud, I do prefer the original look but you do sometimes see the brand new ones an think "hmmm?"

Yours dont look the worst g3 compound may be enough on its own.
I used Meguiars Plast rx on @Jjim ( quick 5 minute run on each one ) made a massive difference.
Obviously a bit more time and effort spent will improve the finished product

I really don't like the after market beady eye type, much better to fit your own halo's

They're not too bad to be honest.. might give the g3 a go as you suggest and see how it goes
