Hi all

Im new to this forum world.
Can anyone give me some advice, Ive bought a Z3 thats fitted with a Harman Kardon system.
The centre sub woofer thats mounted between the front seats is faulty.
Any recommendations on a good replacement?

Hi Jimmy, as Sean has said @Antm72 know his way around the sound systems and recently upgraded his HK (I think) system, it sounds great and looks standard fitment, a really good job. Where are you located Jimmy, Ant is Doncaster area.

Tony.

Welcome to the insanity from Canada! Lots of info available here on the H-K system with several members building their own boxes to fit different subs, etc! JIM

Hi Jimmy welcome to the forum. As @t-tony says i have just upgraded my sub for the same reasons.
Mine was the dual 5.25" speaker set up there is also the single 6" which is what you have it would seem.
Getting anthing to fit is not easy butyou can do it i removed the H.K box completely and built an mdf box to fit in its place.
Speaker wise you need a Kicker 6" inch sub this is availible in dual coil 2ohm same as the H.K speaker.
It is possible to fit it in the stock box and many have if you google it but its not a straight forward fit but you will get the idea.
Sound quality is night and day and worth the effort i found just disconnecting the sub in stock form cleaned the sound up alot, the kicker although not the cheapest is the most plug and play in soloution.

Hey

Many thanks for coming back to me on this.
I currently have a dual 6.5" speaker in the H.K box...
Can I not fit the Kicker straight into its place, or is the speaker to deep to fit into the current box?
No problem to make a MDF box if this is the only way forward.
