Hard work.

We've tried that Dino and it does kill the foliage quite quickly but doesn't kill the root system. Shirl found a write up for using white vinegar with a small amount of washing up liquid (which is supposed to make the mixture cling to the plant/weed).
Apparently Roundup is being withdrawn from sale due to links to some types of cancer. I suspect the same thing will eventually happen to the product @Mazza recommended to me too.

Tony.
Or simply salt. I use it on weeds and it's brilliant.

@t-tony this may save your back - Middle of Lidl.

Inspired by @t-tony ,Thought I had better do some work around the house, so I decided to clean out the patio drain run. Removed two buckets of crap!!!! Most of which was earth deposited by the cat over the last two years digging in the raised beds above!!!!:banghead:
Two hours later all cleaned and covers fixed back down.

That a job I have to get done, and im not looking forward to that.
Got to get it done but it's finding time isn't easy and other jobs happen.
And needs doing there and then, doesn't take much!
Be put on to do list.

To be honest I was glad when the brush was worn out, it gives me a rest until my new one comes. I'm ordering one off eBay with and extending handle and replaceable heads.

Bugger!! It wasn't supposed to arrive till weekend but it turned up today, so after fitting a new bathroom light switch and a couple of other jobs I had a couple of hours and got as far as the end of the conservatory. So that's about 50% of it done.

I will be installing mats at the end of the drive for visitors to wipe their wheels on entering.=))=))

Tony.

It's rewarding though mate when you back at a job well done

As I said earlier in another thread I have to get the drive sorted before spring really rolls around.
Someone spotted the weeds on some pictures some time back and they keep growing. Block paving is a nightmare to maintain and using a long handled wire brush the clean between them.

Took me 3 hours to do these two bits.

Tony.
Spray with weed killer not such hard work Geoff

Me too Malc, must make sure @Grumps has had aiming training before letting him loose out there with a drain tray ;). One benefit of having our Gary's old veedub out there for 2 years is that there was little to no weed growth underneath it.

Tony.
Does Gary still have his Beetle ? My son Mat has had one for years and had it on the strait at Santapod 0 to 60 in something like 5 secondsit looks quite standard except for Porche wheels and a big exhaust but every thing else is non standard, it also makes a lot of noise Geoff

You can get the kiln dried sand with a weed killer in it also I use weed killer spray so I don't have to power wash it so often. Powerwashing is so Massey. You have to clean all the walls and Windows after.

It was a T4 van Geoff.

Even weed killer leaves dead weeds and that what I'm brushing out because as you say power washing leaves so much mess.

Tony.

I'll try not to get oil on it this weekend Tony ;)

Not you I'm concerned about Jim;)=))=))

Tony.

Here's a tip for you Tony, diluted Jeyes fluid will kill off the algae and stop the weeds growing. It will last a year before it needs reapplying. Keeps the cats off too.
