As I said earlier in another thread I have to get the drive sorted before spring really rolls around.
Someone spotted the weeds on some pictures some time back and they keep growing. Block paving is a nightmare to maintain and using a long handled wire brush the clean between them.

Took me 3 hours to do these two bits.

Tony.

And a job well done too mate, how's the back? :arghh:

I had a business a few years back cleaning drives with an industrial jet wash, it was on wheels with a rotating bar, your entire drive would have took 2-3 hours to clean and then another hours replacing the kiln dried sand, I did Chubby Browns and that cost around 3k, oh and it would look like new when finished

With your drive.....it must be like doing the Forth Bridge, as soon as you get to the end, you have to go back to the start again.=))

Need one of these, had one at work for cleaning up after rusty drill pipe was shipped out.

Cheers Craig, wish it was all done, probably only done about 1/10.:(
But it does look much nicer when it's done all the same.

Only just spotted this mate, I would happily pay to get it done but sadly, as you've seen the pesky Ants have b******* some of it. It need lifting and relaying in places.

Tony.

ps. Got started on the outside work bay area today, I thought I'd best get it in shape for the 30th. mate :)

I used to correct any sunken areas as well mate, extra money of course :D
The machine I bought cost 2 grand and run off a Honda engine, mains water couldn't cope so it was fed from a wheelie bin with a hose, made a fortune during the summer but no winter work, my first Job was Pennels garden centre in Humberston, took 3 evenings, total 15 hours and charged them £1500, they where desperate at the time as there was big algea build up and people where slipping over, I spotted the oppertunity and approached them, the response was. "how soon can you do it" I purchased the machine on the back of that order and collected it the next day

Roy was saying on Saturday that he has an attachment for his Karcher pressure washer, I may invest in something like that once I get all the weeds and grass etc. out from between the blocks. Got a chunk done yesterday between the garage and the end of the house, I wore out the metal "tooth" on the tool so made a new one today out of some much thicker steel.

You sure do have your work cut out purely in terms of how much driveway there is to clean Tony. Backbreaking work, I can imagine. Do take it easy - don't want you tired out ahead of keeping your hand in with the ZedShed!

weeds where the worst part mate, the machine I had would destroy them but the roots would soon deveope new growth, On a big job I would go around the week before and spray the drive with industrial strength Roundup, and then go back a month after the drive was cleaned and re-treat it, the latter was at an extra cost

Roundup? In a recent medical report, research has discovered that wines, spirits and beers have Roundup in them!!!
On a brighter note and not to turn you all off drinking alcohol,=)) isn't there a gravel/mix that you can put down that fills the gaps and kills weeds and grass?

No, once the drive has beeb cleaned it needs resanding with fine kiln dried sand, No roundup in my wine as I brew my own, :D

Never had an success with Roundup....but I found an industrial type weed killer on ebay, and sprayed over the back fence as I back on to a railway line and get all the brambles, ivy etc trying to creep through into the garden.
Did it six months ago, and checked it last week and still have a six foot dead zone from my fence. :):)

Industrial Roundup is brilliant, the weeds go black within a couple of days, however you are only allowed to use it under licence
